Timing

Call 30–45 minutes after abandonment. Earlier feels intrusive; later loses urgency.

The offer ladder

Lead with empathy ('we noticed you didn't finish — anything we can help with?'), only mention a discount if the customer raises price.

Follow-up SMS

End every call with an SMS containing the recovery link, even if the customer said yes. It removes friction.
